News and Interesting stuff

Microsoft - Life Maximizers

Microsoft commissioned the Life Maximizers research to support the launch of Windows 7. The TWResearch study highlighted both the multi-tasking liberation and time management challenges of new technology. The study focused on people not the workplace. Our seminar presentation relied heavily on human anecdote and utilised extensive video reporting.

Great Family Escapes was a National Literacy Trust initiative giving free books to guests at Haven Leisure holiday parks. TWResearch spent the summer months on site interviewing families and establishing how simply having access to books can introduce light readers to the pleasures of reading.

Generation Free

Blog Maps

Here's an interesting post on Creative Review's blog showing some images created using weblog information, specifically that which describes conversation threads within the blogosphere.

"Each one represents the “blogosphere” and was designed to show the relationships between weblogs. Within the maps, each “node” represents a weblog and the links between them represent the existence of citations e.g. where A cites B and B cites A – there is a reciprocal link. The maps are then laid out by inspecting the reciprocal links within the graphs and adding in those nodes (blogs) that are linked close to each other."

Teenagers

From the series titled 'Teenagers' by photographer Ewen Spencer. A graduate from The University of Brighton in 1997, his degree show project on the UK’s Northern Soul scene introduced him as a perceptive documenter of British sub-cultures.

These pictures depict British adolescents making their way in the world.

Ethos

“Where is the knowledge we have lost in the information?” - T.S. Eliot

Our passion is for people, not process. We use market research techniques to free opinion from rhetoric and to provide access to authentic experience. Our distinctive approach attracts the projects we enjoy and the clients we like to work with.

We believe that market research informs decision making - it is not a substitute for making decisions.

TWR projects

The Art Fund

Artist Room's was the Art Fund supported initiative that took the art
bequest of Anthony d'Offay to smaller city and regional galleries. Our task
was to assess the impact of the exhibitions on young audiences who are less
familiar with contemporary art.

Harper Collins - Year of Reading

Why do fewer people read in lower income households? Harper Collins and the Publishers Association commissioned an in-home study in which TWResearch spent time getting to know families so they could both identify the barriers and encourage them to 'have a go'.
